about
Fever Pitch is a song as much about illness as it is about the tension and frustration that builds from boredom and isolation. The song was written in 2018 and the lyrics were written after a flare up of Crohn's disease that had lasted over a year. In 2020, amongst the global pandemic and lockdowns across Europe, it seems more relevant than ever.
lyrics
A state of endless malaise
Months of always awake
Pain repeatedly replayed
Fever dreams of fuller days
The solaceless certainty
Of steadfast solitude
Stifles her socially
She spurns any summons
Throwing up
Blood and Guts
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
Panic surge
Rising up
Nearing the end of the tether
Reaches a
Fever pitch
Yellow pills are mounting the pressure
Rising to
Fever Pitch
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
Reaches a
Fever pitch
Yellow pills are mounting the pressure
Rising to
Fever pitch
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
Exsanguinated daily
When did it get this tough?
Excluded plainly
Have you really had enough?
A pill to veil more pills
Nausea is setting in
It’s getting hot in here
It’s in your bloodstream
Throwing up
Blood and Guts
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
Panic surge
Rising up
Nearing the end of the tether
Reaches a
Fever pitch
Yellow pills are mounting the pressure
Rising to
Fever Pitch
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
Reaches a
Fever pitch
Yellow pills are mounting the pressure
Rising to
Fever pitch
Knowing that it doesn’t get better
